Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, the most famous son of Johann Sebastian Bach, is the author of a monumental production, in which instrumental works stand out (especially works for harpsichord, symphonies and concertos for various instruments), but he also demonstrated a notable talent in the vocal field and followed the path laid out by his illustrious father, writing a large number of sacred cantatas for the Sundays and festivities of the liturgical year. From a stylistic point of view, these works are still structured according to the proven schemes of the Baroque, but they already look evidently towards the Classicism of Haydn and Mozart. These cantatas are presented in a magnificent performance by Hermann Max, led by the Rheinische Kantorei, the original instrument ensemble Das Kleine Konzert and a cast of great specialists in the Baroque repertoire, including Barbara Schlick, Johanna Koslowsky and Hilke Helling. A proposal of great interest for the tercentenary of Bach's birth from Berlin.
