This album marks the debut in the prestigious catalog of the Dutch label of the Gutman Trio, a chamber group that takes its name from Natalia Gutman, a cellist endowed with great charisma and one of the few soloists still alive from that prodigious factory of talents. that was the Soviet Union and that gave the world artists of the caliber of Sviatoslav Richter, Emil Gilels, Leonid Kagan, Mstislav Rostropovich and David Oistrakh. As a program for this album, the members of the Gutman Trio decided to bet on two of the greatest achievements of late romantic chamber literature, namely the first and third trio for strings and piano by Johannes Brahms. The Trio No. 1 Op. 8 is one of the freshest and most vigorous works of the great Hamburg composer's early creative period, as can be seen from its youthful passion and irrepressible vitality, while the Trio No. 3 Op. 101 reveals a dark, gloomy atmosphere impregnated with pathos. This new recording, the first in a series of albums featuring the Gutman Trio, is accompanied by extensive liner notes in English and German. Sviatoslav Moroz, violin; Natalia Gutman, cello; Dmitri Vinnik, piano.
