Luigi Mozzani (1869-1943) was born into a poor family in Ancona, at a very young age he learned to play the guitar and oboe, later becoming principal oboist of the New York Philharmonic. However, it is the guitar that was his great love. He wrote a Mozzani method, which included his technical innovations in studies for advanced students. He was also active in the development of the guitar as an instrument and promoted the so-called lyre-shaped lyre guitar. Mozzani's music is charming, lyrical and beautifully atmospheric, the works issued in studio cycles or character pieces. Included as a bonus is Ottorino Respighi's only guitar piece, a set of variations. Performed by one of the best guitarists in Italy and guitarist from the house of Brilliant Classics : Giulio Tampalini, with an impressive discography to his name of works by Tarrega, Llobet, Mirto, Ugoletti among others. Excellent grades in English and Italian.
