Teach to teach. He has been married all his life to Liliana Rovira (Mercedes Sampietro), a Spanish woman, daughter of Catalans, who works as a social worker in marginal neighborhoods of Buenos Aires. They love, respect, loyal. They never get bored being together, they like to be alone. They know each other deeply, they accept each other, they fight without hate, they have fun. They are lovers, partners, friends, accomplices. None of them conceives life without the other. They have a son, Pedro (Carlos Santamaría), married with two children, who has a good job in Madrid, where he lives in a wealthy middle-class neighborhood. Both endure with effort and resignation the absences, the deprivations, the uncertainty of the future, the lack of projects, the hopelessness. But Fernando's placid and reflective world is profoundly altered when he receives, without prior notice, the official communication in which he is informed of his forced retirement, an event that will change his life...
