Manuel Summers is one of the most important Spanish filmmakers since the beginnings of the New Spanish Cinema of the 1960s. His unusual and brilliant career began with his first film, “Del rosa... al yellow”, released in 1963, which won the Concha de Plata y la Perla del Cantábrico for Best Spanish-speaking Film at the San Sebastián International Film Festival. Its public and critical success promoted a filmography in which Summers continued in this innovative line, with titles such as “The Girl in Mourning” which obtained a Special Mention from the Jury at the Cannes Festival or “Goodbye, Stork, Goodbye”, a film which was seen by three and a half million viewers. Completing the edition are “The Girl in Mourning,” Alfredo Landa's first film as the protagonist, and “Angeles Gordos,” a tender comedy-drama filmed in the United States with American actors.
