Bosnia-Herzegovina, 1991. The communists have lost power and Divko Buntic returns to his village to reclaim the family home. After twenty years of exile in Germany, he returns, in his ostentatious Mercedes, with a young girlfriend, with Bonny, the lucky black cat, and with his pockets full of German marks. He uses his money and relationships to forcibly evict his estranged wife Lucija, but does everything possible to see his twenty-year-old son Martin again. Busy in their daily activities, the townspeople ignore rumors about political unrest of a secessionist nature. For them it is impossible to imagine that the two regions that have always made up Bosnia-Herzegovina could one day separate.
