The Baruffe Chiozzotte, two pieces for piano, Album Folios Op.7, Staccato Study, Violin Sonata, Piemontese Dance - Leone Sinigaglia, cosmopolitan intellectual, lived in Germany and Czechoslovakia, where he established ties with Johannes Brahms and Antonín Dvorák. He was also highly respected by Mahler, Furtwängler, Nikisch and Toscanini, who conducted their works in their first performance in America. Of Jewish origin, he died due to Nazi persecutions in his native Turin. Rooted in the German tradition of Schumann and Brahms, its musical language is surprisingly original and full of harmonic and melodic nuances.
