Brani de Coste, Legnani, Giuliani, Bobrowicz, Mertz, Regondi from the works of Bellini, Rossini, Donizetti, Verdi - In the course of the 19th century, the classical guitar finally achieved full independence and emancipated itself from the limiting supporting role of the bass continuation that he had performed for centuries, acquiring the desired soloist dignity. In this period, an increasing number of composers dedicated fantasies and paraphrases of famous operatic arias to the guitar, which revealed to the general public the hitherto unsuspected technical and expressive resources of this instrument. On this new Brilliant Classics album, the young Polish guitarist Roch Modrzejewski performs with a brilliant and highly involved brilliance a beautiful selection of fantasies on themes by Bellini, Donizetti, Rossini and Verdi written by Luigi Legnani, Napoléon Coste, Mauro Giuliani, Jan Nepomuk by Bobrowicz, Johann Kaspar Mertz and Giulio Regondi. A surprisingly enjoyable album!
