- Real estate bites.
Marge gets a real estate license and, working under Lionel Hutz, tries to sell things. When he stipulates that she must succeed within the first week or he will fire her, Marge sells a house to the Flanders family, but does not tell him that several of the previous owners were murdered there. When the house is destroyed after an accident, a relieved Marge returns the money...and is fired...
- Hommer, the Smithers.
Smithers decides to take a vacation and appoints Hommer as his replacement, thinking that when he returns he will be better valued in comparison. Hommer hates the position and at one point punches Smithers in the face. Mr. Burns learns to be independent and fires Smithers upon his return. Smithers plans with Homer how to get his job back, when Burns becomes dependent after falling out of a window.
- Hommer in outer space.
From among ordinary mortals, NASA chooses Hommer as a space traveler. Once heading into space, Hommer releases a swarm of ants into the space capsule. With the help of James Taylor he manages to save the crew...not only to see that all the glory goes to an inanimate rod of coal.
- Marge gets a job.
The Simpsons' house begins to sway dangerously and Hommer's attempts to remedy it are in vain. To raise extra money, Marge gets a job at a nuclear plant, where Mr. Burns falls in love with her. Inc lusi kidnaps Tom Jones in an attempt to woo her. Meanwhile, Bart literally transforms into the "boy who cried wolf"
