Synopsis

Ray Ferrier is a dock unloader, divorced and not a model father. Shortly after his ex-wife and her new husband leave after dropping off their teenage son, Robbie, and their young daughter, Rachel, for one of their rare visits, a tremendous and unexpected thunderstorm breaks out. A few moments later, at an intersection near the house, Ray witnesses an event that will change his life and the lives of his loved ones forever. A huge three-legged machine emerges from the ground and before anyone can do anything, it devastates everything within its reach. A day like any other has just become the most extraordinary date of his life: the first alien attack against Earth.
