Poirot and Hastings go to a film studio, where a friend of theirs is directing a film. They watch the filming and are horrified by the behavior of the studio owner, Henry Reedburn, who treats the actors and studio staff poorly. That same night Reedburn is found dead in his house. The beautiful young star of the film, Valerie Saintclair, is implicated in the murder and her fiancé hires Poirot's services to clear her name. 2. THE DREAM: Mr. Farley, a rich and elderly businessman, enlists Poirot's help to explain a repeated dream in which he sees himself committing suicide in the library at noon, with a revolver. Poirot finds everything very suspicious. The next day Farley is found shot dead in the library, and Chief Inspector Japp calls Poirot for advice.
