Spain. Summer of 1936. The famous writer Miguel de Unamuno decides to publicly support the military uprising that promises to bring order to the turbulent situation in the country. He was immediately dismissed by the republican government as rector of the University of Salamanca. Meanwhile, General Franco manages to add his troops to the rebel front and begins a successful campaign with the secret hope of taking sole command of the war. The bloody drift of the conflict and the imprisonment of some of his companions causes Unamuno to begin to question his initial position and weigh his principles. When Franco moves his headquarters to Salamanca and is named Head of State in the national zone, Unamuno goes to his Palace, determined to make a request.
