Film based on the real life of Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute executed in the fall of 2002 in Florida after being convicted of the murder of six men. Although Wuornos confessed to the six murders, including that of a police officer, she claimed to have killed only in self-defense, resisting being the victim of violent attacks while working as a prostitute. Desperate and on the verge of suicide, Wuornos enters a bar in Florida, where she meets Selby Wall, a young woman sent to live with an aunt by her parents to "cure her homosexuality." Wuornos, the victim of a tragic childhood full of abuse, quickly falls in love with her, clinging to Selby as if he were a lifeline.
