Gene Kelly and Frank Sinatra are two professional baseball players from The Wolves team who decide to try their luck in show business. When they return to the team, it turns out that it has a new owner, named KC Higgins. To their surprise, KC Higgins turns out to be a woman (Esther Williams), with whom they both fall in love.

The friendly and cheeky Zacharias Thomas (Frank Sinatra ) controls many of the businesses in the city of Galverston, Texas. To do this, he has the invaluable collaboration of the president of the local bank, the miserable Harvey Burden (Victor Buono). But Zach has just suffered a serious setback: the stagecoach carrying $100,000 of his property has been robbed by one Joe Jarrett (Dean Martin ), an adventurer who is also a lawyer. Jarrett's daring does not stop here, as he goes to Galverston and deposits the loot in Burden's bank, ready to compete with the powerful Zacharias.
