Giorgia, a private detective in her forties, choleric, with a careless physique, with a strong and tough character, works in the private agency that her father owns in Bologna. He spends most of his time monitoring the marital infidelities of the clients who hire his services. Sixteen years after the mysterious suicide of her younger sister Ada, Georgia receives a box with video tapes that end up being the missing woman's intimate diary. The video shows a happy and outgoing young woman, who dreams of the future, who struggles to start an artistic career, trying, at the same time, to hide a relationship she maintains with another person beyond her partner. As she navigates the twists and turns of history and her own complex love life, Giorgia realizes that she is sinking deeper and deeper into her sister's past and, therefore, into her own.
