Italy, year 1961. The country suffers the agony of a social and economic revolution. Although this revolution does not seem to affect Accio, a teenager as rebellious as he is problematic who lives behind everything in the provincial and depressing Sabaudia. Just to irritate his parents, Accio joins a neo-fascist party while trying to impress Francesca, the girlfriend of his older brother Manrico, the main local leader of the leftist political scene. Accio's fascist actions embarrass Manrico, and his parents decide to mediate between the two brothers, who stop speaking to each other. The only communication between them is through Francesca. Accio falls madly in love with Francesca, and the differences and conflicts between both brothers will be a reflection of a country divided between two ways of understanding life and politics.
