Jackie works at Glasgow City Council where she watches footage from surveillance cameras strategically placed around the city. RED ROAD is the first film produced within the framework of the “Advance Party”, a concept in which three filmmakers each write a script based on the same group of characters. The films take place in Scotland, but apart from this, the filmmakers can decide where the characters live, what their position in society is and where they come from. Their past can be developed, even create kinship relationships between them, they can have good or bad habits, and it is also possible to add secondary characters. The main characters must appear in all three films. The same actors will play the same roles in each of the films.
