OH DOCTOR!, 1917 (Oh, Doctor!)
One of Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle's craziest and most tangled shorts. The plot begins at the racetrack, where his character bets on the races, while flirting with a guy's wife, when he himself is accompanied by his wife and son (this, surprisingly, is Buster Keaton, who screams loudly. taste, as if he were a child). Then things get complicated at Fatty's doctor's office, where patients are scarce. But the woman he was fooling around with calls him to her house to visit her, an occasion that her thief husband takes advantage of to steal a valuable medallion. And there's even more trouble when Fatty puts on a police uniform.
GOOD NIGHT NURSE, 1918 (Good night, nurse)
Hilarious short by Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, which begins with laughter in the rain, a real downpour with hurricane wind that does not prevent Fatty from trying to light a cigarette, to continue with the plump character entering a clinic to undergo an operation, occasion that leads him to meet a crazy woman admitted to the same hospital, and to get into a thousand troubles. Among the inspired gags, the feather pillow battle stands out, which anyone would say inspired Abel Gance's Napoleon, filmed almost ten years later, or the scenes of Fatty transvestite as a charming nurse who flirts with the doctor played by Buster Keaton .
THE HAYSEED, 1919 (Fatty Postman)
Fatty is a postman who, without getting off his cart, manages to sneak letters through the mouths of the different mailboxes. Although when it comes to delivering correspondence to his loved one, he prefers to do it by hand. The lover must face a rival in love, a sheriff and a perfect youngster, who has the nerve to open a steam letter to steal the money inside and buy the girl a ring. As is usual in these shorts that Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle made with Buster Keaton, there is an abundance of physical humor and some funny gags, such as Fatty burying an empty bottle with the honors that would be offered to a recently deceased friend.
OUT WEST, 1918 (The Sheriff)
Short to the greatest glory of Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle, well supported by the usual actors on his team, including Buster Keaton. With typical slapstick agility we witness his adventures through the Wild West, from when he travels as a cap on a train, until his skills with a revolver get him a position as deputy sheriff.
