Financial agent Jimmy Shannon is nearly bankrupt when a lawyer presents him with his grandfather's will bequeathing him seven million dollars. But in order to inherit all that money, Jimmy must get married before 7 pm on his 27th birthday, which happens to be that same day. He is clear about who the lucky girl should be, Mary (Ruth Dwyer), with whom he has been in a relationship for more than a year, but will she accept under those circumstances?
