Madrid 1961. Ana Mari is a spinster, lame, a Francoist and an instructor in the women's section. By order of Franco, she is assigned to work as a maid at Ava Gardner's house with the intention of spying on her. To do this she has to pretend to be married to Manolo, a hustler who will become the American actress's driver. Manolo will try to take advantage of his position for his scams with gypsy clans involving Ana Mari and her schizophrenic brother Floren.
