When the body of a lawyer is found beaten and murdered under very special circumstances, three people from different fields, from the police, the political sphere and the armed forces, suddenly obtain a very decisive influence on the lives of others. One of them is DCI member Sarah Lund, the second is the newly appointed justice secretary Thomas Buch, and the third is imprisoned soldier and father Jens Peter Raben.
