20 years after the Great Disaster that almost ended life on Earth, young Conan leaves his island to go to the rescue of a mysterious girl named Lana. As a result of the outbreak of a great final war with magnetic super weapons, the Earth's axis shifted, causing earthquakes and tsunamis that destroyed civilization and wiped out most of the world's population. The story begins 20 years after the Great Disaster, when a girl named Lana reaches the coast of the island where young Conan and his grandfather live. They are both very happy to meet her because until now they had thought they were the only survivors on Earth. But soon, the nation of Industria kidnaps Lana in order to use her telepathy to discover the secret of solar energy, and Conan's grandfather is killed in the fray. After overcoming the pain, Conan sets out to go to Lana's rescue.
