Choreograph Maillot's version of the classic ballet The Nutcracker is an innovative and consistent interpretation of well-known material. In the first part, which takes place in Paris in the 19th century, he modifies it and turns the figure of Drosselmeier into a couple: Drossel and Meier. They are present throughout the ballet. The highlight of the second act: the world of the circus opens up to little Marie in a sequence of funny, moving and poetic scenes that appeal to both young and old.
