The ancient sacred texts have inspired numerous composers over the years, who - depending on their sensitivity - have found ever new formulas to express universal emotions about life and In particular, the program includes a series of sacred works by Arvo Pärt (Magnificat), Alfred Schnittke and the lesser-known Georgy Sviridov, Dimitri Tchesnokov and Vytautas Miškinis, which manage to evoke the deepest sacred contents with clear and mysterious melodic lines and extensive harmonic architectures. Established in 2010, the French choir Les Métaboles exhibits an extraordinarily homogeneous, pure, intense and serene sound palette, which contributes to making it the ideal interpreter of these sublime and moving choral works.
