Niccolò Castiglioni, initially a pianist, later decided to dedicate himself to composition. He was very interested in musical criticism, his approach was intellectual to composition, he overcame the neoclassical influences of his training and moved away from the avant-garde, exploring the now 'unfashionable' late romantic style and the Second Viennese School. This CD contains music composed in the 1950s, when Castiglioni was in Darmstadt, and other works from the 1980s and early 1990s.

Niccolò Castiglioni, initially a pianist, decided to dedicate himself to the composition.
