Mother

Under what seems to be one of the most disturbing films of recent years lies one of the most personal works of director Darren Aronofsky, who after films like Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan or Noah, changes scene to represent in Mother one of the darkest versions of himself and his concerns about current society and even the same public that attends the theaters to see his works.

In Madre, a couple moves away from the big city and its stress with the intention of living in a calmer and more relaxed way. They seek that type of life that many citizens long for, but that for various reasons they cannot achieve. Already in their new house, they receive an unexpected visitor: a man they do not know, but who manifests himself as a follower of the work of one of the members of the couple. That visit will only be the starting point of other equally complex and somewhat inexplicable appearances that will cause the couple's normal and calm life to take an absolute turn and nothing will be the same again.

Darren Aronofsky and his passive criticism

This filmmaker's CV speaks for itself and of the various phases that he himself has gone through when he has written his different scripts that he has then directed. This is a director who does not evade the reality of today's society, but rather immerses himself in it and digests it as best he can, transforming his ideas and thoughts into a critique that can be seen throughout the entire film. . Sometimes the way in which the director's opinions are represented on screen happens in a subtle way, while other times he adorns everything with a layer of surrealism that can be overwhelming. But it is still Aronofsky's work.

The main couple is unforgettable

Having the work of two actors of such skill as Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem to play the two leading roles is a guaranteed success. Once the critics dissected each of the elements that can be seen throughout the film, the only thing left to do was applaud strongly and carefully the interpretive work done by the protagonist couple. Javier Bardem highlights her excellent profile and how well she works in intimate productions, while Lawrence continues to demonstrate that for her there is much more beyond the great sagas of films for young people that she has starred in.

A movie to remember

Mother is a work by Darren Aronofsky who does not seek to please the viewer and who does not want absolute word of mouth to occur that would give him more fame that he possibly does not need. The director offers a document that is inevitable to remember whether it has left one type of impression or if the result has been the opposite. It is one of the films that can create the most debate in the filmmaker's career, one with which once the end has arrived there is a great desire to share opinions and points of view with other viewers.
