Dian Fossey has become a modern legend. Passionate, intrepid and dedicated, Dian dedicated eighteen years of her life to the study of gorillas in the rainforest of the mountains of Volcanoes National Park, in Rwanda. It was, however, the camera of naturalist photographer Bob Campbell that propelled Dian and the mountain gorillas to international fame. Campbell was hired by National Geographic to film Fossey's work, and between 1968 and 1972 he used more than twenty thousand meters of film.
