Jaume Balagueró i Bernat (Lérida 1968) is a Spanish director specialized in fantasy films
Horror. With his first feature film, Los sin nombre, an adaptation of the novel of the same name
by Ramsey Campbell, won the Golden Meliès for best European fantasy film of 1999,
assuming its international takeoff and the power against with larger budgets and intervention
of prestigious actors from Europa and the United States. His cinema staff is widely accepted
among fans of the genre around the world, characterized by the use of certain resources
expressive: gas masks, old transistor radios, old family portraits,
and the famous Balagueró effect, a kind of stroboscopic effect used at times
climaxes with which he manages to recreate a truly terrifying atmosphere without resorting to
