The grandson of a member of the Ku Klux Klan decides to join the movement to fight for Civil Rights in the United States when he comes of age. Based on Bob Zellner's autobiographical work: "The Wrong Side of Murder Creek."
Synopsis
In the early 1960s, racism was a commonly accepted issue in the United States and organizations such as the Ku Klux Klan were gaining strength and reaching positions of power. Bob Zellner, a 22-year-old white man, son of a rigorous Methodist preacher, has grown up in a strictly religious home, with Republican beliefs, where repression of black people was supported. But in the summer of 1961, his ideologies and convictions change when he witnesses widespread violent abuse against black protesters demanding equal rights. His new beliefs are frowned upon by his family, especially by his grandfather, one of the most important members of the Ku Klux Klan in his city.
