Synopsis: Silvia is a woman from the provinces who travels to the big city. There she meets a married man and they become lovers. To show him that he shouldn't be jealous, he gets a virginity certificate. The director Vicente Lluch resorts to the tradition of Mediterranean farce to ridicule the Catalan bourgeoisie of the Franco era, ethically reprehensible and socially ridiculous. To do this, he uses a female character (played by the always reliable Núria Espert) who throughout the film acquires notable empowerment. Thus forming a harsh criticism of Spanish society under the Franco dictatorship, full of hypocrisy, double standards and games of appearances.
