Synopsis:
In the year 1330 BC, in Thebes, the elderly Sinuhé in his exile remembers his story. Abandoned at birth in the waters of the Nile, he is taken in by a couple who adopted him, who lived in the bustling and poor neighborhood of the port of Thebes.
Sinuhé studies Medicine, his adoptive father's profession, and makes friends with Horemheb. During a lion hunt the two save the life of the new pharaoh, Akhenaten, who gratefully introduces them to the court, where Sinuhé will eventually become the monarch's doctor.
There, Sinuhé discovers that his origin is of royal blood, and that he has the right to the throne of Egypt, but his downfall is meeting the courtesan Nefer, with whom he falls in love.
