Dakota, 1874. Wild Bild Hickok (Charles Bronson) has a strange nightmare in which he is attacked by a huge and ferocious white buffalo. To end his nightmares, Hickok will move through desolate landscapes in search of his dream antagonist, encountering the most diverse dangers. On his way he will meet a Sioux Indian called "Caballo Loco" whose town was devastated by the buffalo and who wants revenge, and an old explorer (Jack Warden), who wants the skin of the strange specimen to sell.
