In 1975, while Franco was dying, the Prince, acting Head of State, found himself involved in a difficult problem: Hassan II, faced with the imminent death of the Dictator, organized the "green march" on the Spanish Sahara, which placed the Army in a very delicate situation: Morocco has not declared war on Spain, and therefore there is no enemy army to face, but the Spanish Government passively assists the invasion of the Spanish colony by angry masses of Moroccans. In this context, someone from the Ministry of Information and Tourism had the idea of sending a musical magazine company, Gloria del Toro's, to the Sahara, already very weak, to raise the morale of the troops.
