Set in colonial America, in what is now Virginia, and in London, Pocahontas has become a story known and appreciated internationally for its historical value, entertaining young people of all ages. The film tells the story of the first English settlers in Virginia and their relationships with the Native Americans who lived there. Pocahontas, daughter of the powerful Chief Powhatan, belongs to a tribe of American Indians of great culture and nobility, who love and respect everything related to nature and life. The Indian Princess has fallen in love with John Smith, an Englishman, with whom she marries and has a son, despite family opposition. Together they travel to London where she must face the fact of being the first native Indian to establish herself in strict British society.
