Le Concert + A Late Quartet [BLU_RAY]

- The concert:
Under Brezhnev, Andrei Filipov was the best conductor in the Soviet Union and directed the famous Bolshoi Orchestra. But in full glory, after refusing to part with his Jewish musicians, among whom was his best friend Sacha, he was fired. Thirty years later, he is still working at the Bolshoi, but now. as a cleaner.
One night, when Andrei stays up late polishing the supreme leader's office, he finds a fax addressed to the management of the Bolshoi: it is a letter from the Chtelet Theater inviting the official orchestra to give a concert in Paris. Suddenly , Andrei comes up with a crazy idea: why not gather his former fellow musicians, who live by doing odd jobs and tinkering, and take them to Paris, passing them through the Bolshoi? The long-awaited opportunity to take revenge has finally arrived.

- The last concert:
After 25 years of garnering and enjoying worldwide fame, and in the midst of preparing for a concert to celebrate their professional quarter century, the future of a New York string quartet receives a hard blow that may call its survival into question. The cellist in the ensemble is suffering from the first symptoms of Parkinson's, an illness that will soon put an end to his career as a performer. Uncertainty about their future will take over the quartet, giving free rein to repressed emotions, selfishness and reproaches that will call into question years of friendship and professional collaboration.
