The sumptuous Orient Express train crosses Europa with a passage full of aristocrats, bourgeois potentates and diplomats. Among its illustrious travelers is the sagacious Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, who returns from having successfully solved an investigation in the Middle East. The railway has to stop when it runs through the Balkan Peninsula due to a snow avalanche. After spending a night stopped, the train resumes its journey.
