The outbreak of war shatters the world of a young student, Lyudmila Pavlichenko, forcing her to join the fight against the horrors of Nazism. The girl enlists in the army and after brief training as a sniper, Lyudmila finds herself on the front lines. The girl, however, turns out to be a born sniper by nature, exhibiting impressive skill and dexterity, thus proving beyond a doubt her immense value to the Red Army. His 309 kills are a testament to his sniper marksmanship. Soon, tragedy comes to Lyudmila: the man she loves dies while she herself falls seriously. The girl is taken out of combat and later travels to the United States on a military publicity visit. The first lady, Eleanor Roosevelt, welcomes Lyudmila to the White House, thus increasing her fame. During a meeting in Chicago Pavlichenko asks: Don't you think, gentlemen, that you have been hiding behind me for too long? Two months later the Allies opened the second front, relegating the Soviets, and giving them necessary relief.
