Sam Wexler, a young aspiring writer, is having a bad day: he must attend an important meeting with the director of a prestigious New York publishing house and wakes up late and hungover; Along the way he meets a boy who has lost his mother in the subway; Sam is torn between continuing on his way or taking care of him until he finds his mother.
