Love's Labour's Lost [DVD]

Love's Labour's Lost is a frivolous yet bittersweet comedy about love and romance, in which four well-intentioned but somewhat disoriented young people discover the impossibility of resisting the power of true love. The King of Navarre and his three comrades take the solemn and public oath to study together and to renounce women for three years. His honor is immediately put to the test with the arrival of the Princess of France and her three adorable companions. The meeting is a crush for all of them, an encounter that will be followed by the amusing (although otherwise useless) efforts of the four gentlemen to hide their feelings. In addition to hosting a whole gallery of comic characters, Love's Labour's Lost is a delightful film about the "battle of the sexes", animated by songs and musical numbers taken from the great classics of musical comedy.
