Esperanza, a Spanish woman, arrives in Ecuador with the intention of getting to know the country. Teresa, Ecuadorian, who introduces herself as Sadness, joins him while she waits to meet the boy she loves on the road.
Hitchhiking, in the middle of a national strike, alone or in the company of others, both women will embark on a unique journey in which they will learn as much about the other person as the country that surrounds them. And above all, of themselves.
"How Far" is an emotional and atypical road movie directed by Tania Hermida, and starring with fresh naturalness by two more than promising actresses, the Spanish Tania Martínez and the Ecuadorian Cecilia Vallejo, and which has been a huge success in their country of origin: more than 200,000 spectators and more than 24 weeks in theaters. It has also garnered praise and awards at festivals around the world.

"A film that uses the background landscape so that its creatures discover that the true journey is within oneself. And all, with an agile sense of rhythm, delicious dialogues in their contrasts and endearing characters in their simplicity"
Nuria Vidal, PHOTOGRAMS
"The story penetrates the viewer almost without wanting to, without one realizing it he is already loving Esperanza (fantastic Tania Martínez) and Tristeza. Hermida weaves her story without fuss or arrhythmias of any kind, with a firm hand"
Toni Vall, CINEMANÍA
"She leaves no stone unturned, because with humor and intelligence Tania Hermida ridicules Latin machismo, national history, cultural traditions, political populism (both left and right) and above all relations with Spain in such sensitive points as "Immigration, cultural shock and colonial heritage. It has been years since I saw a film so original and fun, which does not renounce being critical."
