Gavin Banek (Ben Affleck) is a high-flying lawyer who tries to make his way through the cars to avoid being late for a trial. In the next lane is Doyle Gipson (Samuel L. Jackson), a father of two, also headed to court where a judge with a long case list and little time to waste will decide whether Doyle has the right to see your children. Apparently Banek and Gipson are very different men: one fights to get to the top in his job and the other desperately fights to get out of the hole he finds himself in. But a minor accident will bring these two strangers to the brink of self-destruction and prove that anger makes us all equal.
