Quentin, a fool who drives everyone crazy with his incessant chatter, is arrested after a robbery and ends up sharing a cell with Ruby, a tough thief who refuses to talk to anyone. Before he was arrested, Ruby managed to hide a huge amount of stolen money that he in turn stole from Vogel, a dangerous criminal who killed Sandra, Ruby's lover. Even though Ruby doesn't want anything to do with Quentin, he tries to be her friend. Ruby gets him transferred to the psychiatric ward and Quentin follows. There he organizes a clumsy but successful escape for both of them, just as Ruby was about to flee alone. The lone Ruby's mission is to kill Vogel and thus take revenge for Sandra's death. She suspects that Quentin works for the police and does everything she can to get rid of him, even when she saves him from Vogel's goons. After a vaudevillian series of events, Ruby and Quentin end up dressed in women's pantsuits, following and being pursued by Vogel's goons via electronic devices as they all head to Vogel's house. However, Rocco (Vogel's strong man) takes a route that leads to a traffic jam and calls the police to protect his boss from Ruby's wrath. Quentin and Ruby evade the police by stealing one of their cars but in the process Ruby is shot. Ruby keeps trying to get rid of Quentin but every time they are about to get caught Quentin's method? knock everyone unconscious and take the car, whether it belongs to the police or the thugs - he manages to get them out of trouble. They hide in an abandoned restaurant where Quentin tries to convince Ruby not to go through with her plan to kill Vogel and open a restaurant with him. Ruby doesn't want to know anything and suddenly Katia, an illegal immigrant, enters. Ruby is surprised by her resemblance to Sandra and Quentin, convinced that Ruby is going to leave him for the girl, decides to help her anyway with a new plan. When he thinks Ruby is headed to Vogel's house, he calls Vogel to send his goons to the restaurant. However, Ruby suddenly returns and saves Quentin from Vogel's henchmen. Meanwhile, the police keep an eye on Vogel for when Ruby and Quentin show up to kill him (pretending to have been caught by Rocco), arrest them. However, the friendship between Ruby and Quentin is already something indestructible.
