At Óscar's wedding with Ana there is a lot of waste, even though we are in the Spanish post-war years. Gloria, the mother, is very generous and in "The Garden" there is a lot of blackmail. The youngest son, Juan, who has relations with Ángela, quarrels with his brother and must leave home. While Juan triumphs in the Francoist "court", Ángela gives birth to Juanito. After years, Juanito falls seriously ill while searching for his father. The grandmother takes him away from the mother so that he can convalesce in "The Garden", where he is pampered excessively. Juanito tries to get to know his father, whom he has never seen and who he knows will happen to Franco's entourage, but the important character he assumed is a simple waiter for the dictator.
