In Madrid in 1961, Carlos, a law student, runs a film club that has programmed a series dedicated to the great classic "Carl Th. Dreyer". Santi, a priest friend of the family, arrives at his girlfriend Elena's house who, on his way to the missions, will revolutionize the couple. His appearance will also affect Julia, a projectionist at the film club and in love with Carlos. Through Carlos and Elena we see how the enlightened children of the Madrid bourgeoisie of the time begin to question the suffocating inherited morality and the predictable and conformist life in which their parents have lived, and for which they themselves felt programmed.
