A peasant woman, faced with the difficulties of society, decides to change the system and replace her possibility of individual work with a collective one. With the collaboration of the agricultural consultant of the region and some farmers as poor or poorer than itself, it gets underway. But the successes achieved bother the authorities and the kulaks, who sense the danger of cooperation, aligning all their forces against it, in order to annihilate the fighting spirit of Marfa.
