PRIMO CARNERAE (DVD)

In 1933 Primo Carnera achieved the title of World Heavyweight Boxing Champion. He was the first Italian to win the title, a feat that no other Italian boxer ever repeated. But until reaching that moment of glory, Primo Carnera had gone through experiences that were not always happy. A constant during the rest of his life for Carnera who, because of his large dimensions, was known as The Good Giant, The Walking Mountain and, also, The Killer Giant. His life inspired several books and films such as Harder the Fall and Requiem for a Champion.

After suffering the ridicule of his peers and working as a strongman in a circus, Carnera begins to box without any type of technique. He simply wins the fights by ko . In the United States, his representative linked to the mafia, rigs the fights and creates rejection towards the boxer.

Carnera perfected his technique and upon returning to the United States he managed to win the title of World Champion in 1933 and even began a career in film. However, his co-star in The Boxer and the Lady, the boxer Max Baer, studies his movements and thus manages to defeat him and take the title from him in 1934.

Carnera continued his career in wrestling and took advantage of his notoriety to fight in the resistance against Mussolini and the Nazis.
