A North American space capsule, containing samples from the lunar surface, falls, due to a technical error on the return trip, into an unknown region of black Africa, inhabited by the dangerous "ekele" tribe. Such a territory of Africa is known only to a famous explorer, the brave Mathew Merriwether (Bob Hope). So the United States government, determined to recover the contents of the capsule, does not hesitate to send the intrepid Merriwether. For its part, a foreign state intends to seize the lunar samples and also sends its best agent, a statuesque woman named Luba ( Anita Ekberg).
