The young Englishwoman Julie lives in Mexico DF with her Mexican husband Antonio and their four-month-old daughter. They are an ordinary couple who wants to buy an apartment. They end up buying land that will make their lives miserable. By giving a down payment check to the man who coordinates the murder of Dr. Parra, a powerful politician, she and her baby are illegally detained in a clandestine prison. The order was given by the Minister of the Interior himself. They accuse Antonio, knowing that he is innocent, of having murdered Dr. Parra using the check as evidence. Believing his wife and baby safe in the British embassy, Antonio manages to flee to London using his friend Alfredo's passport. He takes refuge at the home of Ian Bower, Julie's friend and special agent of the British intelligence agency MI5. The English authorities are looking for Antonio. He flees from Bower's house and in turn looks for one of the causes of his troubles: the new Mexican ambassador to the United Kingdom, a criminal-politician expert in money laundering and organized criminal with the minister of the interior. Bower does his own investigation believing that Antonio is really a criminal and concerned about Julie's whereabouts in Mexico. Taking advantage of his position, the ambassador does business with a corrupt British government official. Even though Julie is isolated and seduced by a sex-maniacal attorney general, she manages to contact the British consul and an international scandal breaks out, turning everything upside down.
