In Temptation in Manhattan we will meet Kate Reddy (Sarah Jessica Parker), a woman who works hard during the day at a Boston financial management firm, and who, when night falls, returns home to reunite with her loving husband Richard. (Greg Kinnear), an architect who has just lost his job, and his two young children. This precarious balance between work and family is the same one maintained daily by the acerbic Allison (Christina Hendricks), Kate's best friend and co-worker, and which the young Momo (Olivia Munn), the competent Kate's underling with a phobia of children. When Kate receives an important assignment that requires her to make frequent trips to New York, Richard in turn gets the job of his dreams, a situation that weakens the thin thread that holds the marriage together.
