Five friends, mostly immigrants of Arab origin, fill their hours with "small" crimes. Young and impressionable, they are persuaded by a tough gangster and his seductive girlfriend to carry out a bank robbery. When the attempt goes wrong and they are caught by the police, the five are surprised to see that instead of going to prison they are sentenced to spend a year and a half in Glen Mills, an experimental reform school.
